The Texas Golden Gloves Tournament may be known for its intense competition, but behind every punch and knockout is a team of dedicated event planners working tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly. From securing venues to coordinating with vendors, the event logistics team plays an essential role in the success of the tournament.
Sarah Jenkins, the event coordinator for the Golden Gloves, is one of the unsung heroes behind the scenes. “Planning an event of this scale requires precision and attention to detail,” Sarah explains. “From organizing fighter schedules to ensuring that each match runs on time, there’s a lot of moving parts.”
Sarah’s day starts well before the first bell rings. She’s responsible for liaising with the Fort Worth Convention Center, ensuring all equipment is in place, and managing a team of volunteers who help with everything from registration to crowd control. “It’s a lot of stress, but when I see the fighters step into the ring, it all feels worth it,” Sarah says.
In addition to logistical planning, Sarah and her team also have to handle the technical aspects of the event. This includes setting up live-streaming equipment for viewers who can’t attend in person. The team works closely with the tournament’s media partner to ensure seamless broadcasting.
As the event nears its conclusion, Sarah’s team begins the daunting task of wrapping up. “There’s always a huge sigh of relief when everything is packed up and the tournament is a success. But we’re already looking ahead to next year,” Sarah says with a smile.
