Alyssa Grant, a 19-year-old golfer from Austin, is turning heads not only for her skill but also for her environmental advocacy. Known for her powerful drives and consistent short game, Alyssa is using her platform to make golf more sustainable.
Alyssa partnered with her coach to create the Green Golf Initiative, which promotes eco-friendly practices on the course. During her recent tournament, she introduced biodegradable tees, recycled golf balls, and solar-powered carts. “The sport I love shouldn’t harm the planet,” she says.
Her efforts have caught the attention of national organizations, and she’s been invited to speak at environmental conferences. “Golf is about leaving the course better than you found it. Why not do the same for the planet?” she asks.
